Let's Go DPO - Struggling with SARs? (Repeat Session)

The Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 provides individuals with a number of rights. The one most commonly used is the right of subject access. This practical session, bringing our Subject Access Requests (SARs) guidance to life, will help those processing subject access requests to meet the requirements of the law including areas often misunderstood.

The following topics will be explored at this session:

  • When a Data Controller can refuse to act on a Subject Access Request.
  • What the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner expects to see to evidence a decision.
  • When the 8 week extension can be applied and why.

Let’s Go DPO is a support network from the JOIC giving Data Protection Officers and those that have responsibility for data protection the chance to network, identify and explore common experiences and engage with our office in a safe and confidential environment.

All are welcome at this session, which is free of charge.
